What does a test tech do?

A Test Tech, or Test Technician, is responsible for inspecting, testing, and troubleshooting electronic components or products to ensure they meet quality and performance standards. They use specialized equipment and follow detailed procedures to identify and document any issues. Test Techs often work in manufacturing or laboratory environments and may also be involved in repairing or calibrating devices. Their work is essential for maintaining product reliability and safety before items reach customers.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a test tech, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Test Tech, you need a solid understanding of electronics, troubleshooting, and quality control, often supported by an associate degree or technical certification.
