In this hands-on, outdoor position, you'll collect and verify water meter data, complete field work orders, and help ensure accurate customer billing and system reliability. About This Role
  • Read, verify, and record water meter data for monthly billing, manual reads, and radio-read system accuracy
  • Complete field work orders, including meter locates, turn-ons/turn-offs, field investigations, and customer notifications
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair meter boxes, registers, transmitters, and related equipment to ensure accurate readings and reliable service
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding to field inquiries, reporting discrepancies, and communicating high usage, leaks, and delinquency notices
  • Maintain accurate daily records, vehicle readiness, and communicate operational updates and issues to supervisors

Work Hours:Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

About You

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent- OR-the ability to obtain a GED within six (6) months from the time of hire
  • One year of experience in applicable trade encompassed by the position
  • A valid Florida Driver's License at the time of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Utility or plumbing field experience preferred with working knowledge of water and/or sewer piping and water meters.

Physical Demands:

  • Mustfrequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds

**This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five years
