Production: Advanced Debug Test Technician
Shift: 4A (Monday-Thursday)
Job Purpose
An Advanced Debug Test Technician is responsible for complex troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electronic assemblies that fail production testing. This role goes beyond basic debug by handling intermittent issues, system-level faults, and process-related failures, often working closely with engineering teams.
Nature of Duties

  • Perform advanced-level debugging on failed PCBAs and electronic systems
  • Diagnose complex, intermittent, and multi-layer circuit failures
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and recommend corrective actions
  • Interpret detailed schematics, layouts, and signal flow
  • Debug down to component and signal level, including ICs and microcircuits
  • Analyze failure trends and provide feedback to engineering, quality, and production teams
  • Assist in developing and improving test procedures and fixtures
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) builds and validation
  • Train and mentor junior technicians or operators
Performance Expectations
  • Reduce repeat failures and improve yield
  • Fast and accurate root cause identification
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Minimize turnaround time for complex repairs
Tools & Equipment
  • Oscilloscopes, Logic analyzers, and Spectrum analyzers
  • Digital multimeters & power supplies
  • Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems
  • X-ray inspection systems (for BGA analysis)
Required Skills
  • Strong understanding of analog & digital electronics, signal integrity, and circuit behavior
  • Ability to perform system-level and board-level diagnostics
  • Advanced schematic reading and troubleshooting methodology
  • Root cause analysis and failure trend reporting
  • Familiarity with quality systems (ISO, IPC standards like IPC-A-610)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Education/Experience
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field; or equivalent military/industry experience
  • 4-8+ years of experience in electronics test/debug or manufacturing/engineering support
  • Experience in EMS companies or similar environments is preferred
