Job description

Working alone or in small teams, the electronics technician will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide variety of equipment. Equipment may be analog or digital, and can range from electromechanical to complex RF systems. The electronics technician ensures proper operation of all equipment in accordance with testing guidelines by troubleshooting and repairing systems to component level. Must be able to keep organized, detailed records of work performed. Travel is not required.

 

Preferences:

  • Experience soldering with both leaded and lead-free equipment
  • Experience adjusting, repairing or replacing defective components based on analysis of test results while following blueprints, schematics and/or Technical Orders.
  • Experience with corrosion control procedures, identification and treatment. 
  • Experience with test and measuring equipment such as digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, frequency counters, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Experience with RF communication maintenance and/or troubleshooting and repair.

 

Duties to Include:

  • Inspect electronic systems for defects, damage and faulty connections.
  • Perform functional and operational test of instruments and components as required.
  • Test electronic equipment under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and operational readiness, using test equipment, oscilloscopes, digital meters, counters and circuit analyzers.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective components based on analysis of test results, following blueprints, schematics, and Technical Orders.
  • Perform micro-miniature module repair on computer circuit cards, with repairs to component level in compliance with J-STD-001 requirements.
  • Adjust and/or align installed or repaired equipment to meet or exceed prescribed specifications.
  • Perform corrosion control as necessary, including cleaning, preparing, and painting. (This may also include fabricating identification stickers as needed.)
  • Record Testing, Repair and Warranty data on paperwork for electronic equipment tested, repaired, or calibrated.
  • Additional duties as directed by management.
