Job description

Role: Lead Test Engineer
Client: Defense-Aerospace
Hourly Rate: up to $65/hr (W2, non-benefited)  
Length: 1-year contract  
Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Clearance: Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
 
Description: 
  • Lead a team of integration and test engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and direction
  • Develop and maintain the test strategy for embedded products 
  • Architect test solutions that effectively validate system requirements
  • Establish best practices for test automation, continuous integration, and test reporting
  • Leading Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) and internal testing assessments with key program stakeholders
  • Design comprehensive test plans that cover all aspects of product functionality
  • Develop automated test scripts using Python 3.9+ following company's coding standards
  • Implement robust verification and validation methodologies
  • Coordinate integration activities between hardware, firmware, and software teams
  • Establish integration procedures that ensure smooth component interaction
  • Support AGILE implementation
  • Create detailed test documentation including test plans, procedures, and reports
  • Maintain accurate records of test activities and results
  • Ability to develop ROMs in accordance with execution of requirements
  • Conduct Performance reviews per process
 
Required & Desired Skills:
  • Experience leading 3 to 5 team members, holding team members accountable to program milestone execution
  • Expert knowledge and experience with object-oriented programming, system processes and scripting languages, Python
  • Strong understanding of test automation frameworks and methodologies
  • Experience with hardware/software integration testing
  • Significant experience with test equipment (signal analyzer, signal generator, USRP)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Outstanding communication skills for frequent contact with managers, project teams across the company and external customers and vendors
 
Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices
  • Familiarity with embedded systems development and testing
  • Experience with requirements management and traceability
  • Background in defense or aerospace industries
