Job description

What to Expect As a Production Supervisor, you will be playing a critical role on the Gigafactory Production team. You will lead a dynamic team of Associates and Leads while managing operations and driving metrics in critical areas of the Manufacturing floor. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with our manufacturing and operations teams, interfacing with Engineering, NPI, and Material Flow, to ensure production goals are being met. What You'll Do
  • Build a strong, motivated production team capable of consistently delivering high quality products against aggressive production targets
  • Empower the production team to collaborate with engineering to improve product manufacturability and line productivity
  • Develop training programs and hiring plans for assembly team members
  • Support issue resolution including root cause investigation & corrective action tracking
  • Ensure quality standards are being met throughout the entire production process and support no defects from leaving a station or team area
  • Develop & maintain Standardized Manufacturing Instructions used in production assembly by the assembly team members
  • Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams' safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations
What You'll Bring
  • 3+ years of experience managing teams of people in a high volume manufacturing setting preferred
  • Experience in selecting and developing new team members
  • Ability to work with and develop production performance metrics (efficiency, quality, safety, throughput, costs)
  • Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
  • Communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills; able to interface with executives and leaders on a daily basis and strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Fluent with common MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to a flexible shift, including nights and weekend, if necessary
