Job description
The Post-Processing Technician is responsible for refining, purifying, and preparing cannabis extracts produced from a Luna hydrocarbon extraction system. This role ensures products meet quality, safety, and production standards while maintaining compliance with state regulations and company SOPs.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and monitor post-processing equipment following extraction.
- Perform solvent recovery, winterization, filtration, decarboxylation, and distillation processes.
- Assist with hydrocarbon extraction operations using Luna extraction equipment.
- Prepare biomass and materials for extraction runs.
- Transfer, label, and track cannabis materials using inventory systems such as METRC.
- Monitor temperatures, pressures, vacuum levels, and process parameters.
- Collect samples for quality testing and maintain batch records.
- Clean and sanitize extraction and processing equipment.
- Follow all safety procedures related to flammable solvents and cannabis processing.
- Coordinate with packaging and production teams to ensure workflow efficiency.

- 1–2+ years in cannabis extraction, processing, manufacturing, or laboratory environments.
- Understanding of hydrocarbon extraction and post-processing techniques.
- Ability to follow SOPs and maintain detailed documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Ability to lift 40+ lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Must meet state cannabis worker permit requirements.
- Experience operating a Luna IO extraction.
- Experience with wiped-film distillation equipment.
- Knowledge of METRC or seed-to-sale tracking systems.
- Chemistry, laboratory, or manufacturing background.
- Experience with R&D and process optimization.
