Job description

Primary Responsibilities:

  Monitor and manage incoming and outgoing broadcast feeds, including satellite, fiber, IP, and streaming sources.  

Guide remote contribution of guests and field talent, advising on device/camera placement, lighting acoustic environment camera framing, while managing connection stability and other production standards such as backgrounds. 

Flagg to producers any additional challenges with remote guests such as wardrobe, hats or any non-standard appearance concerns. 

  Coordinate feed acquisition, recording, routing, and distribution to support live and recorded broadcasts.  

  Operate broadcast routing, switching, and monitoring equipment to ensure content is delivered to the correct destinations.  

  Verify feed quality, signal integrity, audio levels, and video performance before and during transmission.  

  Troubleshoot routine feed and signal issues and coordinate with engineering staff to resolve technical problems.  

  Maintain communication with master control, production, engineering, and external broadcasters regarding feed schedules and transmission requirements.  

  Record and archive incoming feeds, live events, and programming content as required.  

  Monitor multiple feed sources simultaneously and respond quickly to transmission interruptions or operational issues. 

Stays abreast of the latest/new technology  

Coordinates on-air telephone calls, Skype, Zooms, Bitfire, LTN Teradek, and other remotes  

Operates computers  

Completes tasks accurately and independently prior to deadline, in according with editorial and production priorities  

Functions as effective member of a team  

May serve as a team leader, assigning work and coaching team members and reporting to management on their performance  

Other related duties as assigned
