What is the opportunity?

You will serve as the RBC "Centre of Expertise" within the Next Best Action (NBA) Platform, supporting the NBA Delivery Optimization Team on the effective and efficient deployment of data-driven solutions. As part of the Customer Engagement & Data team, you will provide both business and technical support, bridging technical knowledge with stakeholder needs. In this role, you will champion solutions and successfully manage through uncertainty and change in a fast-paced environment while supporting team members through processes and keeping them focused on business priorities. You will collaborate with technology and business partners across the bank to build upon the NBA ecosystem, provide operational support, drive compliance, and lead the integration of best practices through training and implementation. We are seeking a Data Analyst with Python Developer experience with strong communication skills, technical proficiency in relational databases and structured programming languages, and experience with data decisioning tools and environments. This role offers opportunities to expand your expertise across different areas of the ecosystem and pursue projects of interest.

This role will work in the office 4 days per week.

What will you do?

  • Data Development & Infrastructure - Develop and maintain data-driven solutions in Python, SQL, and SAS while adhering to coding standards; support infrastructure changes and collaborate with data scientists and business partners to monitor system quality and drive organizational efficiencies.

  • Innovation & Optimization - Research and implement new technologies to optimize NBA data pipelines, UI, and marketing processes; conduct data analytics to provide insights on strategic initiatives including marketing, regulatory, and operational campaigns.

  • Documentation & Compliance - Create and maintain comprehensive documentation and training materials for the NBA Delivery team (60+ stakeholders); ensure compliance with data stewardship, governance, and privacy policies while maintaining corporate reputation and ethical standards.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-Have:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and relational databases (SAS, R, Scala, or data warehouse tools are assets)

  • Strong technical proficiency in analytical and decisioning tools (Tableau, Teradata SQL, UNIX) with knowledge of structured programming concepts

  • Demonstrated business acumen with experience in business analysis, process mapping, requirements gathering, and change management/training

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral and written) with strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and influence capabilities

  • Proven ability to solve complex problems, work independently and collaboratively in agile environments, and simplify/automate processes to improve client outcomes

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or equivalent professional experience; passion for continuous learning

Nice-to-have:

  • 2+ years of SAS programming experience with deep data and technical skills.

  • AI Agent Development & Deployment experience designing and implementing AI agents to automate processes and drive operational efficiency

  • Experience in financial services industry with broad understanding of marketing, product management, sales, finance, pricing, and risk management

  • Software engineering best practices and user-centered design thinking with background in web or mobile development

  • Quality Assurance experience including campaign build and execution
