Tenons are projecting pieces of wood or other material that are designed to fit into a corresponding mortise (hole or recess) to form a strong joint. This technique, known as mortise and tenon joinery, is commonly used in woodworking and construction to securely connect two pieces of material, such as in making furniture, doors, or frames.
