Job Summary 
The Tennis Shop Supervisor supports the daily operations of the tennis shop by coordinating merchandise handling, maintaining shop organization, and delivering excellent member service. This role provides day-to-day guidance to tennis shop staff, assists with scheduling, and ensures established procedures are followed. The Supervisor works alongside staff in operational tasks while fostering a welcoming environment that promotes the game of tennis and supports the club's racquet sports program. 


Reporting Structure 
Reports to the Head Tennis Professional or Racquet Sports Director


Day to Day
    Check in merchandise according to established procedures, organize storage and display areas, and maintain appropriate inventory levels for high-demand items (shirts, socks, gloves, hats, balls).
    Process returns of defective merchandise and ensure proper credits are issued in line with established guidelines.
    Place and track special or team orders, communicating status updates to customers.
    Collect member feedback on merchandise and share observations with the Head Tennis Professional or Racquet Sports Director for purchasing considerations.
    Keep the shop clean, organized, and visually appealing; actively assist members and guests in merchandise selection and purchases.
    Deliver efficient customer service at the pro shop counter, including checking in players, processing transactions, answering calls, and scheduling court reservations.
    Assist with preparing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
    Help train new employees by demonstrating standard procedures and sharing operational information.
    Verify timekeeping entries for accuracy before submission to payroll.
    Update membership information and maintain databases such as the Buyers Club Plan and Stringing Database.
    Assist in reconciling tennis lesson reports and organizing invoices for timely payment.
    Support tennis operations as directed by the Head Tennis Professional or Racquet Sports Director.

    Due to the dynamic nature of the club, employees are expected to assist others as needed and take on additional tasks as assigned by management.
    Follow all company, club, and department policies, procedures, and instructions.
    Maintain a high level of professionalism and a commitment to excellence in interactions with members, colleagues, and staff.
    Follow safe working practices, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and encouraging others to do the same.
    Take the initiative in personal and professional growth and maintain any required certifications relevant to your role.
    Address and resolve challenges using available resources, working with regional and corporate teams to support club operations.
    Attend daily briefings and actively engage in required activities to stay informed and
contribute to the team's success. 
About You
Required 
    High school diploma or equivalent. 
    A minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a retail or sports environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills. 
    A minimum of 1 year of experience providing direction or oversight to co-workers.  
    A minimum of 1 year of providing direction or  
Preferred 
    Knowledge of tennis equipment, apparel, and accessories. 
    Experience in retail sales, merchandising, inventory management, and POS systems. 
Physical Requirements 
    Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and driving. 
    Occasional exposure to temperature changes, dust, fumes, or gases. 
    Squatting, kneeling, reaching, grasping, twisting, and bending. 
    Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 100 lbs. on occasion. 
    Talking, hearing, and seeing. 
Primary Tools/Equipment 
    Merchandise (5 - 30 lbs.) 
    Racquets (1-2 lbs.) 
    Computer, Tablet, Phone etc. 
Work Schedule 
    Adherence to attendance requirements as outlined in the weekly schedule. 
    Flexibility to work additional hours as needed to meet position deadlines. 
    Availability to work on weekends and/or holidays as required.
