Job description

Job Title: Roll Tender  

Classification: Hourly

Reports To: Shift Supervisor  

Department: Mailer Production               

 

Summary of Job

Takes direction from VP manufacturing. This position seeks to maintain consumable inventories and aid in our 5S housekeeping efforts and ready make-ready materials as needed.  

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Readies all make-ready material as required. Such as mounting plates, glue pads etc. as well as the gathering said materials at press for next make-ready BEFORE the make-ready begins.
  • Maintains press roller and cylinders in inventory by keeping new rollers in ready state behind assigned presses.
  • Assures used rollers are reworked in a timely fashion.
  • Maintains bearing inventories for all rollers used within the pressroom.
  • Maintains plant cleanliness through assigned cleaning projects.
  • Maintain the solvent, glue and oil areas in a safe an orderly fashion.
  • Maintains all waste and oil products safely and in proper containment. Be sure all waste is packaged properly for pick up.
  • Maintain an orderly clean and efficient space in the warehouse for which to inventory new and used consumables.
  • Change glue totes when required.
  • Help press crews in obtaining consumables when required.
  • Actively engages in Pregis apprenticeship program to ensure continuous improvement of self and company.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations. Ensure the maintenance of departmental housekeeping standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
