Job description

Smart Asset Management is seeking a customer-focused, detail-oriented Resident Services / Rent Collections Specialist to provide exceptional service to residents and property owners while supporting rent collection efforts. This hybrid role requires strong critical thinking, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills to resolve issues efficiently in a fast-paced property management environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer and route inbound calls from residents, property owners, and prospective clients
  • Analyze resident concerns and determine the best course of action based on company policies and procedures
  • Resolve issues independently when possible or escalate to the appropriate department
  • Maintain accurate resident records through data entry and system updates
  • Assist with front desk coverage, resident onboarding, and in-office customer service as needed
  • Collect rent for an assigned portfolio following company policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with rental assistance agencies to identify solutions for residents
  • Communicate with property owners regarding portfolio performance
  • Partner with internal departments to resolve issues and improve the resident experience

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of customer service experience
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and data entry/computer proficiency
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
  • Property management or collections experience is a plus
