What is a temporary job?

A Temporary job is an employment arrangement in which both parties, the employee and employer, agree in advance that the position will be filled for a set period. Temporary jobs often are based on employers’ seasonal or specific project needs. Occasionally, Temporary employees will be offered ongoing, full-time positions if their performance is excellent and a position is available. However, you should not assume this will be the case.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a temporary worker, and why are they important?

Familiarity with office software, point-of-sale systems, or specific industry tools may be required depending on the assignment. Strong communication, reliability, and a positive attitude help you integrate quickly into new teams and environments. These skills ensure you can efficiently contribute to various workplaces and make a positive impression during short-term assignments.

Temporary roles often require quick adaptation to new environments, processes, and teams. You may face challenges such as limited onboarding, unclear expectations, or integrating with established staff. To succeed, be proactive in asking questions, clarify your responsibilities early on, and demonstrate flexibility. Building rapport with colleagues and being open to feedback can also help you make a positive impact and potentially open doors to longer-term opportunities.

Job description

About Kinetic

Kinetic Automation is pioneering effortless modern vehicle repair. Kinetic uses proprietary AI and autonomous robotics technology to automate vehicle maintenance and simplify repair administration for collision shops, dealerships, and insurance carriers. Kinetic’s service hubs and intake centers ensure accurate calibration, rapid turnaround, and predictable costs for the rapidly growing ADAS and EV ecosystem. The company has financial backing from top-tier investors, including Menlo Ventures, Lux Capital, and Construct Capital. For more information, visit www.kinetic.auto.

The role

We’re looking for a temporary Collision Estimator who blends the technical accuracy of collision estimating with the human touch of customer advocacy. You’ll assess vehicle damage virtually, identify ADAS calibration needs, and ensure every repair plan meets the highest standards.

This is a role where precision meets innovation: you’ll leverage high-resolution imaging, industry-leading estimating platforms, and your expertise to create accurate estimates that drive trust, efficiency, and safety.

While this role is listed as a temporary role, Kinetic will evaluate our business needs as well as your performance within three months to understand if there is an opportunity to convert you to full-time regular employment.

Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with car owners, collision center partners, and internal teams
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on collision estimating, repair planning, and ADAS calibration
  • Review high-resolution photos, scan reports, and facts of loss to produce accurate, complete, easy-to-understand estimates
  • Use CCC ONE, Audatex, and/or Mitchell to ensure estimates are precise and fully documented
  • Audit repair plans for OEM procedure compliance, correct labor times, and proper parts evaluation
  • Understand and apply insurance carrier requirements to ensure alignment and compliance
  • Analyze trends in estimate quality, documentation, supplements, and repair outcomes
  • Provide feedback to internal teams to improve workflows, technology, and customer processes
  • Support the ongoing development and enhancement of Kinetic's estimating, diagnostics, and repair planning platforms
  • Participate in training initiatives and knowledge-sharing activities across the organization
Required qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in collision estimating or as an auto claims adjuster
  • Proven success in delivering exceptional customer service in a B2B collision repair environment
  • Proficiency with CCC ONE, Mitchell, and Audatex software
  • Strong multitasking skills, with the ability to handle virtual desk review operations efficiently
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • I-CAR and/or ASE certifications preferred
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, training, and industry events
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, or related field preferred
Join us!

Join the Kinetic team and drive the adoption of ADAS calibration solutions that enhance vehicle safety and reduce administrative friction for customers. We offer competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and regular career-growth opportunities.
