Summary of Position:
The Recruiting & Advising (R&A) Department provides support to students, families, and schools throughout the process of selection and application to IES Abroad programs. The Temporary Program Advising Assistant is responsible for initiating communication with prospective applicants to IES Abroad programs, completing data entry related to departmental activities, and supporting projects within the department.
Essential Job Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Assist full-time Advisors with outbound and inbound calls and emails to students and families about IES Abroad program predeparture processes or requirements, such as course pre-registration, visas, and housing.
  • Assist full-time Advisors and Advising Managers with projects as needed.
  • Provide support for data audits
  • Responsible for any other task or duty as assigned
  • Regular and predictable attendance is essential for this position

Experience & Qualifications/Skills:
  • Minimum one year of data entry and/or administrative experience
  • Excellent Excel spreadsheet, Microsoft Office, and database skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of team comprised of Chicago-based and field-based staff
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Friendly phone presence
  • Enthusiasm for study abroad

Education Licenses and/or Certifications etc.:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required

Hourly Rate:
$27.00 per hour
