Job description

Administrative Support Role

Are you organized, detail-oriented, and someone who enjoys helping people navigate processes and find answers? In this temporary role, you'll provide administrative and technical support while serving as an important point of contact for residents, customers, County staff, and other agencies. Your work will help keep daily operations moving—from answering questions and maintaining records to processing permits, service requests, work orders, and inspections.

You'll assist customers with service requests, inspection requests, and other department services by reviewing information for accuracy and completeness, entering and updating records, and providing required documentation. You'll also create and research service requests and work orders, schedule inspections, communicate information to field staff, and keep customers informed about the status of their requests and next steps.

In addition to technical support, you'll perform a variety of administrative responsibilities, including answering and directing calls, greeting visitors, preparing correspondence and reports, maintaining databases and files, processing mail, and other office functions. You may also help maintain official records, compile data, and support department projects and activities.

Customer service is at the heart of this position. Whether you're helping someone by responding to a service request or complaint, coordinating an inspection, or assisting a coworker, you'll provide clear information and help connect customers with the resources they need.

If you're comfortable balancing multiple priorities, enjoy problem-solving, and take pride in providing accurate, friendly, and responsive service, this is an opportunity to play an important role in supporting both department operations and the community we serve.

Education & Credentials That Power This Role

You're organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced office environment. You have experience with modern administrative practices and are proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, data entry, and other job-related software and office technology.

You communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, and can prepare correspondence, reports, and other business documents with accuracy. Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills help you work independently, meet deadlines, maintain accurate records, and handle routine administrative responsibilities with minimal supervision.

You exercise sound judgment and discretion when applying policies and procedures and approach new challenges with resourcefulness and professionalism. You're customer-focused and able to provide helpful guidance to coworkers and the public while building positive working relationships with employees, leadership, service providers, and community members.

Above all, you're dependable, adaptable, and ready to contribute wherever needed to help keep the team organized and operations running smoothly.
