Job description

Overview
Auburn University Libraries' Administrative Office is seeking a TES Multimedia Specialist to support in the design, development, writing, and maintenance of textual and graphic web content, as well as electronic news and communications for the libraries. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with flexibility required based on operational needs.
Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:
    • Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
    • Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
    • Assistance with special projects
    • Seasonal work
    • Emergencies

Responsibilities
  • Write, edit, and produce news and feature stories for both internal and external audiences
  • Plan, develop, and execute engaging digital content that highlights Libraries' programs, services, and initiatives
  • Design and produce a variety of print materials, ranging from postcards to multi-page publications
  • Create and manage digital content for the Libraries' website, social media channels, and other communication platforms
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the Libraries' digital signage system

Qualifications
Minimum:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 4 years of relevant experience or
  • Associate's degree and 2 years of relevant experience

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Multimedia, or a related field

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience with multimedia technologies and digital content creation

  • Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment
