Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Welders join metal parts using high heat application to form permanent bonds.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Operating welding machine that feeds wire to bond materials
  • Planning work by interpreting blueprints
  • Determining welding position and type of metal to be fused
  • Selecting and setting up welding equipment
  • Ensuring welds meet standards and specifications
  • Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku's QMS policies and procedures.
  • Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.
Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Certificate or Associate degree in welding
  • Minimum 1 year experience in welding

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Knowledge of hand tools and power tools
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Team orientation
  • Crane operation experience preferred, but not required
  • Forklift operation experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

ADA Requirements:

  • Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of forcefrequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving fromone work site to another.
  • Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrustforward, downward or outward.
  • Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm
  • Visual: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing andanalyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visualinspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection);using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes
  • Visual: The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughnessof the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
  • Job Conditions: The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
  • Job Conditions: The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places,exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
