Job description

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Planning & Delivery Management, the Manager, Planning & Analysis plays a key role in enabling effective delivery of the IS project portfolio through strong planning, prioritization, and governance. This role is accountable for leading demand intake and prioritization, maintaining overall portfolio health, and ensuring alignment between business priorities and available delivery capacity.
Acting as a critical support function to delivery teams, this position focuses on portfolio-level planning and analysis rather than project execution, providing visibility into risks, dependencies, and priorities. The role also oversees enterprise IT resource planning, including capacity forecasting and allocation, and is responsible for establishing and reinforcing governance standards to drive consistent, high-quality execution across IS initiatives.
Apply to join our TrueBlue team in Alberta!
Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and governance of the IS project portfolio to ensure alignment with strategic priorities and operational goals.

  • Maintain end-to-end visibility of project status, timelines, interdependencies, and delivery performance

  • Oversee the intake, evaluation, and prioritization of business and technical demand.

  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure demand is aligned with organizational priorities, capacity constraints, and value delivery.

  • Provide execution leadership for enterprise-wide resource planning, including capacity forecasting, allocation, and optimization across concurrent initiatives.

  • Ensure effective utilization of IS resources to balance delivery commitments and strategic priorities, driving teams to deliver outcomes efficiently and within agreed scope.

  • Monitor overall portfolio health, identifying risks, trends, and dependencies.

  • Provide actionable insights and reporting, including dashboards and executive summaries, to enable proactive decision-making.

  • Provide execution leadership in establishing, implementing, and enforcing portfolio governance frameworks, standards, and best practices.

  • Ensure adherence to project management processes, reporting requirements, and compliance expectations across the IS function, driving consistent execution and accountability across teams.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science or a relevant field preferred

  • 8+ years of experience in Information Systems environments, including progressive leadership in project portfolio management, demand management, and governance of enterprise-scale initiatives

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex portfolios across multiple IS domains, including cybersecurity, architecture, infrastructure, networking, and service delivery

  • Proven experience with ServiceNow, including strong working knowledge of Demand Management and Project Portfolio Management (PPM) modules

  • Hands-on experience in portfolio planning, prioritization, and risk management within a complex IS environment

  • Experience in IT resource management, including capacity planning, forecasting, and allocation across multiple concurrent initiatives

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and communicate effectively with business leaders and senior management
