Detox Technician (Temporary Full-Time) Canaan, CT
About the Position:
Looking for meaningful, hands-on clinical experience? As a Detox Technician at Mountainside, you'll be on the front lines of care-supporting clients through one of the most critical stages of their recovery journey.
This temporary full-time role is a great opportunity to build experience, expand your clinical skills, and make a real difference in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Schedule:
Full-Time 36 hours/week (3x12-hour shifts)
Rotating schedule:
  • Week 1: Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
  • Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)

Your Role:
You'll play a vital role in ensuring client safety, comfort, and care throughout the detox process:
  • Monitor and document vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature)
  • Observe and report changes in medical and psychological status to nursing staff
  • Track and document client activity, behavior, and overall well-being
  • Support clients with activities of daily living, ensuring dignity and comfort
  • Perform waived testing and EKGs as needed
  • Encourage participation in groups and recovery-focused programming
  • Step in to facilitate groups when needed
  • Conduct regular safety rounds and checks to maintain a secure environment
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and therapeutic setting
  • Contribute to the overall safety and security of the unit, buildings, and grounds
  • Collaborate with team members and maintain strong professional relationships
  • Uphold strict confidentiality and compliance standards

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a detox, behavioral health, or related healthcare setting
  • Strong observational skills and ability to respond quickly in a clinical environment
  • A team-first mindset and passion for helping individuals in early recovery

Compensation:
The base salary for the position is $17.00 to $20.00 per hour. Actual pay is determined based on a number of job-related factors including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, performance, and working conditions.
