Job Summary
A growing utility construction organization is seeking an experienced Utility Estimator for a direct hire opportunity in the Plano/The Colony, TX area. This role is ideal for a detail-driven estimating professional with a strong background in heavy civil, underground utilities, municipal infrastructure, data centers, and complex civil scopes.
The Utility Estimator will play a key role in preconstruction by preparing accurate, competitive bids and supporting strategic project planning. This is a strong opportunity to join a stable, team-oriented construction environment with supportive leadership, collaborative project teams, and meaningful work tied to essential infrastructure. Candidates who enjoy analytical work, plan review, cost strategy, and partnering with operations teams will be well positioned for success.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil, utility, infrastructure, and underground construction projects.
- Analyze plans, specifications, bid documents, and construction drawings to identify scope requirements.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and price labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and supplier packages.
- Solicit, compare, and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing for accuracy and competitiveness.
- Identify project risks, scope gaps, bid opportunities, and value engineering options.
- Collaborate with project managers, leadership, and preconstruction teams on bid strategy and execution.
Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $90,000 to $115,000 per year.
