Job description

The Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority is seeking a customer-focused, dependable, and detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to join our team. This is a temporary position with the opportunity to lead to a regular full-time appointment, based upon job performance, operational needs, and available funding.

Position Summary
The Customer Service Representative serves as the primary point of contact for Authority customers by providing courteous and professional assistance regarding sewer utility accounts, billing inquiries, payments, service requests, and general customer concerns.

Essential Duties

  • Respond to customer inquiries in person, by telephone, email, and other communication methods.
  • Assist customers with account information, billing questions, payment arrangements, and service requests.
  • Process customer payments and maintain accurate records.
  • Enter and update customer account information in the Authority's billing system.
  • Prepare correspondence and maintain customer files.
  • Research and resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate with other departments regarding service issues.
  • Perform general clerical and administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Must be a NJ resident
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of customer service, utility billing, municipal government, or administrative office experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Cash handling experience is desirable.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) applicants are encouraged to apply.

Salary
$18/hr to $20/hr
