Valid driver's license indicating "Safe Driver"
Excellent physical condition. This position requires work in variable and sometimes extreme weather, at remote locations, and on difficult or hazardous terrain. The successful candidate must be able to meet the NWCG Pack Test at the arduous level (3-mile walk with a 45-lb pack in 45 minutes or less).  Job Description:

The OPS Land Management Technician (LMT) is a time-limited job, assisting with conservation and operational duties at OSBS. Between September 2026 and April 2027, the LMT will participate in conservation projects related to prescribed burning, exotic-invasive species control, ecological monitoring, data entry and habitat restoration. Basic station operation duties will include road and equipment maintenance, tree and tree limb trimming along roads and boundary fencing. y. Candidates should expect to work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, in difficult and hazardous terrain, and under physically demanding circumstances. The LMT works in a team environment and carries out instructions and projects with minimal supervision.


Training opportunities provided may include: 
S-130/S-190 Basic Wildland Firefighter certification 
S-112 Introduction to Chainsaw Operations 
Florida Pesticide Applicator's License 

Expected Salary:

$15.00-$17.00 per hour, commensurate with training and experience.  

Required Qualifications: Chainsaw use experience.

We are seeking to hire two (2) people to work from September/October 2026-April 2027.
