Job description

Seeking a Temporary Pharmacist to provide essential pharmacy support at a state high-security psychiatric hospital. This role involves ensuring accuracy and safety within medication dispensing processes at a separate pharmacy facility, with limited patient contact. The position begins in early September and continues until a permanent hire is made.
Responsibilities:

  • Verify technician-prepared medication packs, including those flagged by InspectRx, ensuring proper repackaging, corrections, and refills
  • Use barcode scanning to confirm medication accuracy after tech fills
  • Collaborate with pharmacy staff for troubleshooting and support as needed
  • Assist with limited order verifications; behavioral health experience is not required
  • Complete approximately three days of training before starting, including learning Oracle/Cerner and Parata ATP2 Packager systems
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
  • Licensed Pharmacist in Missouri is required
  • Experience in clinical or retail pharmacy preferred but behavioral health experience not mandatory due to training and support
  • Comfortable working independently within a structured environment
  • Local candidates only; no relocation or travel accommodations available
Schedule:
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
  • Pharmacy closed on all Missouri state holidays; no weekend or on-call hours needed
Location:
  • Fulton, MO (pharmacy located outside the secure perimeter of the psychiatric hospital)
