Summary- Pipette Technician 1 (Temporary) is an entry-level position, requiring no prior experience. Trainees will be able to calibrate pipettes, as well as scales/balances, centrifuges, or various temperature devices.  Training will be provided, and technicians are expected to learn the skills and processes necessary to perform calibration work within the lab environment.


  • Will work with management and other technicians within the lab to learn pipette calibration fundamentals, working to produce calibrations using the systems and SOPs we have in place
  • Learn fundamental calibration techniques and processes
  • Develop skills necessary to perform calibrations independently
  • Develop skills necessary to produce calibrations at a specified rate 
  • Maintain calibration standards
  • Must be able to perform these functions within a laboratory setting and/or supervised customer on-site
  • Will be required to perform on site calibration, certification, and maintenance services on specific lab equipment at client/customer locations including interfacing with customers in person, via email or phone
  • Equipment includes pipettes, bottle top dispensers, scales, balances, centrifuges, and temperature calibrations
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Ability to learn new skills regarding calibration and calibration processes
  • Previous laboratory experience is preferred but not required
  • Basic mathematical skills including algebra, geometry, and statistics
  • Familiarity with basic tools
  • Proficiency with office computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Basic organizational and time management skills
