Job description

What to Expect Tesla is looking for Semi drivers to support the industry-disrupting Tesla Semi. Candidates for this role must have a strong eye for detail, adapt quickly to sudden changes, and work collaboratively with excellent oral and written communication skills. You will move production and prototype Semi trucks from the production line to staging areas around the local facilities, driving single trucks and loads up to 85' long for processing. Duties may also include supporting prototypes and show truck delivery and communicating moves to the team. To be successful in this role, you should be a self-motivated, driven individual who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment and engaging cross-functionally within Tesla and across the extended supply chain. This role is onsite in Sparks, NV with overnight travel up to 30% of the time.
What You'll Do
  • Responsible for moving New Tesla Semi tractors and piggyback loads as instructed within the yard to facilitate shipping and as well as delivery at times to offsite locations. May move units to engineering facilities or truck shows on an as needed basis
  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to hooking and unhooking loads, moving trailers in and out of doors, as well as charging
  • Assist and mentor Yard Hostlers and other drivers who have general inquiries such as yard locations or other questions and/or issues always professionally representing Tesla
  • Perform daily inspection of industrial trucks and trailers, including safety checks while adhering to applicable regulations and procedures. Document and report on all maintenance and safety issues. Maintain DOT compliance at all times. Safety is paramount
  • Complete daily yard checks andmaintain yard accuracy through TMS
  • Transact in real time in the TMS system to keep inventory accur

  • ValidClassACDL with no more than 3 points on CDL and no significant violations in the last 3 years
    Doubles endorsement and / or RGN experience preferred
  • Minimumof7yearsoftractor/trailerexperience(3-axletractor,53'trailer)
