Job description

JOIN OUR TEAM AT THE CLUB AT KALEA BAY!
The Club at Kalea Bay offers five-star resort features, including pools, tennis courts, and two restaurants: Salt & Oak and the Driftwood Café. We are looking for a seasonal Server who would thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing outstanding dining service and personalized guest experiences while delivering superior hospitality to members and guests in a fast-paced resort setting.
The Server job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position. The start date is October 1, 2026, with May 31, 2027, as the end date.
Job Duties:
  • Provide professional, courteous, and timely food and beverage services to members and guests in a friendly and enthusiastic manner.
  • Greet guests warmly and maintain a friendly and professional demeanor at all times Focus attention on guest needs while remaining calm and courteous in a fast-paced environment
  • Thoroughly learn and follow restaurant, beach, and pool service standards and procedures.
  • Set up the beach with chairs, umbrellas, and towels, and ensure that guests are always provided with clean towels.
  • Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware.
  • Possess detailed knowledge of food menus, beverage menus, daily specials, promotions, garnishes, ingredients, and preparation methods.
  • Answer guest questions regarding menu items in an informative and helpful manner.
  • Take food and beverage orders from the members on handheld or order-taking pads and deliver food to members and guests.
  • Accurately enter orders into the Point of Sale (POS) system and verify order transmission with the kitchen or bar Know about coffee/tea service, beverage lists, promotions, all menu items, garnishes, contents, and preparation methods.
  • Set up and maintain beach and pool service stations, including chairs, umbrellas, towels, and service equipment Ensure guests are always provided with clean towels and properly arranged seating
  • Assist with running food and beverage orders for assigned tables and other service staff Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages.
  • Run food and drink orders for their tables and other staff members. Operate a golf cart to transport supplies and equipment such as chairs, tables, linens, towels, and décor for beach, poolside, or special events.
  • Assist with setup, service, and breakdown for food and beverage events and private functions.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, health, and workplace safety policies
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area throughout service

Special Skills, Other Special Skills, or Requirements:
  • Able to multitask without getting flustered. Experienced in working in a customer-facing role.
  • Able to easily converse with guests. Able to respond well under pressure.
  • Able to respond to change quickly.
  • Willing and able to be on their feet for 8+ hours.
  • Sell menu specials or limited-time offers.
  • A valid driver's license is required to operate golf carts.
  • A valid Food Handler Certificate is required for this position to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene and service.
  • A valid Alcohol Server Certification (e.g., RBS or equivalent) is required for team members who serve alcoholic beverages, in compliance with state and local regulations.
  • This position operates in a private club setting.
  • The employee is exposed to weather conditions while serving guests outdoors.
  • Work areas may be crowded and noisy.
  • The employee makes frequent trips to the kitchen, where the air may be moist, warm, and odorous from cooking foods.
  • The kitchen floor may be slippery from moisture and grease.
  • The employee maybe exposed to hazards, including, but not limited to, cuts, slips, trips, falls, and burns. Frequent hand washing is required.
  • Frequent use of stairs, daily.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • This position is very active and requires standing and moving for an extended period.
  • Constantly moving between in and outdoor environments.
  • This position requires walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching.
  • The work may need occasional carrying/lifting to 50 pounds, weighing up to 20 pounds, and pushing and pulling up to 75 pounds unassisted, frequently reaching overhead.
  • Arm strength and coordination must be sufficient to carry plates of food, glasses, and bottles, and serve from large trays.
  • All applicants must pass drug tests and background checks, including domestic and H2B visas, and employees in seasonal, full-time, and annual positions.
