Job Details:

Job Title: Software Test Engineer 

Location: St Paul, MN 

Duration: 6 months (Temp to Perm)

Summary Of Position:

  • Responsible for software testing, including requirements analysis, test preparation, execution, results analysis, and defect reporting.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline. 10+ years of experience required.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Verbal and written communication skills, analytical thinking and problem solving ability.
  • Ability to work independently, follow procedure steps, and document defects.
  • Ability to maintain a pleasant and cooperative temperament with internal and external customers. Ability to meet short and long term deadlines.
  • Ability to work with, mentor, and lead other test resources.
  • Ability to lead complete testing projects, contribute to the development of testing tools, and acquire significant domain knowledge.
  • Knowledge of different test methodologies, tools, and practices. Knowledge of software automation to include scripting , debugging, execution, and analysis.
  • Experience with dynamic software/electro-mechanical systems.
  • Build, test, and deploy supporting test systems.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, building control systems and devices a plus. Understanding of object oriented and component based product development.
  • Ability to think "outside of the box" to offer creative solutions to problems.
Qualifications

It would be good if the candidate had experience in the following areas:

  • Management (perhaps as a PM), Agile teams (Scrum Master?), work with offshore teams, JIRA for task management, MS Office applications, MS Project. Test certification (such as CQA, CSTE, CSTP, CSQE) is a definite plus.
