Hirani Engineering & Land Surveying is seeking an experienced and highly technical Survey Technician III to serve as a senior technical resource within the Land Surveying Department. This position is responsible for advanced survey data processing, control network support, laser scanning workflows, technical drafting, and preparation of complex survey deliverables for infrastructure, commercial, and public-sector projects. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical expertise in GPS systems, laser scanning technology, survey calculations, drafting platforms, and data management, with the ability to independently support multiple projects in a fast-paced consulting environment.

This individual will work closely with Licensed Professional Land Surveyors, Project Managers, field crews, and technical staff to support the successful execution of surveying operations and deliverables. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ADVANCED SURVEY DATA PROCESSING & TECHNICAL ANALYSIS Lead the processing, review, and quality control of complex survey datasets collected through GPS, total stations, and laser scanning equipment Support the establishment, adjustment, and verification of survey control networks Perform advanced technical survey calculations, coordinate geometry analysis, traverses, and data adjustments Analyze field data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements Troubleshoot technical survey and data-related issues in coordination with field and project teams LASER SCANNING & POINT CLOUD MANAGEMENT Process and manage laser scan and point cloud data utilizing Leica scanning technology Support scan registration, data alignment, modeling, and scan-to-plan workflows Coordinate with project teams regarding scanning requirements, deliverables, and data integration Assist with implementation and maintenance of scanning standards and workflows DRAFTING, MAPPING & DELIVERABLES Independently prepare complex survey drawings, mapping exhibits, base plans, and technical deliverables Develop survey documentation utilizing AutoCAD, MicroStation, Carlson, and related drafting platforms Support preparation of topographic surveys, boundary surveys, construction layouts, existing conditions plans, and utility mapping Maintain organized project documentation, electronic records, and drafting standards PROJECT COORDINATION & TECHNICAL SUPPORT Coordinate with Project Managers, Licensed Surveyors, and field personnel regarding project schedules, technical requirements, and deliverables Support project execution by assisting with workload management, data transfers, reporting, and documentation control Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior survey technicians and support staff Participate in internal coordination meetings and project planning discussions QUALITY ASSURANCE & COMPLIANCE Perform QA/QC reviews of survey calculations, drafting, and deliverables Maintain compliance with company standards, client requirements, and applicable surveying procedures Assist in improving departmental workflows, standards, and technical processesQUALIFICATIONS Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in land surveying, survey data processing, or survey drafting Strong technical understanding of GPS systems, control networks, coordinate systems, and laser scanning technologies Advanced experience with technical survey calculations and survey data analysis Ability to independently manage multiple assignments and deadlines with minimal supervision Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Experience working within engineering, infrastructure, transportation, or consulting environments preferred TECHNICAL SKILLS / SOFTWARE AutoCAD MicroStation Carlson Software Leica Scanners GPS Survey Equipment Point Cloud Processing Technical Survey Calculations Survey Drafting & Mapping Salary:$120k - $180k AnnuallyQUALIFICATIONS Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in land surveying, survey data processing, or survey drafting Strong technical understanding of GPS systems, control networks, coordinate systems, and laser scanning technologies Advanced experience with technical survey calculations and survey data analysis Ability to independently manage multiple assignments and deadlines with minimal supervision Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Experience working within engineering, infrastructure, transportation, or consulting environments preferred TECHNICAL SKILLS / SOFTWARE AutoCAD MicroStation Carlson Software Leica Scanners GPS Survey Equipment Point Cloud Processing Technical Survey Calculations Survey Drafting & Mapping Salary:$120k - $180k Annually
