Supply Chain/Procurement Internship

The Supply Chain/Procurement Intern will assist the Dexter Procurement team with projects that support sourcing, supplier research, data analysis, project management, and supply chain decision-making. This role provides hands-on experience working with cross-functional teams while giving students the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world business and manufacturing challenges.

Potential locations for this internship include Elkhart, Indiana

As a Supply Chain/Procurement Intern, you will be working on hands-on projects. Potential projects may include, but are not limited to:

  • Collecting, organizing, and analyzing large volumes of technical and business data from various sources
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Project Management, and Production, to understand data requirements and provide support
  • Assisting with supplier research across various commodities and generating requests for quotation (RFQs)
  • Supporting make-versus-buy analysis and sourcing decisions
  • Assisting with project planning, tracking, and project management activities
  • Preparing data, reports, and recommendations to support procurement and supply chain initiatives

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following:

  • Excellent sense of ethics and accountability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Interest in supply chain, procurement, sourcing, or manufacturing operations
  • Project management experience through coursework, student organizations, internships, or other hands-on projects

In addition, you must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.
