Job Duties:
Treehaven is seeking temporary help to fill custodian and food service positions.
The custodian position will work within the Facilities department at Treehaven cleaning and preparing rooms for visiting groups. Cleaning will include classrooms and classroom set up, bathrooms, hallways, entrances and light outside work. Facilities work will include repair of toilets, routine building checks on fire extinguishers, AEDs, etc.
Under general supervision, the food service assistant position will assist with food service production, meal preparation, serving food to guests, cleaning, safe equipment operation and will be responsible for compliance with food safety and sanitation standards. This position will work a variety of shifts that may include early mornings, afternoons, later evenings and weekends.
Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Utilizes basic equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas and remove waste and recyclables
  • Documents and reports repairs, violations, and pest control needs
  • Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documents inventory, and requests additional supplies as needed
  • Monitors and secures facility interior and exterior entrances and reports issues to appropriate entities
  • Maintains clean and clear walkways to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice

Department:
Treehaven is a residential education, research and conference facility that is a part of the College of Natural Resources (CNR). It is located between Rhinelander and Tomahawk, WI, resting on a glacial ridge overlooking 1,400 acres of forest and wetlands. Treehaven is home to the CNR's 6-week summer field experience. The College of Natural Resources has approximately 1,500 undergraduates natural resource programs with disciplines in Fisheries and Water Resources, Forestry, Environment and Society, Soil and Waste Resources, Wildlife Ecology and the Department of Paper Science and Chemical Engineering.
Each year Treehaven staff serve several thousand people that attend college courses, public workshops, school programs and business gatherings.
