The Quality Control Laboratory Technician supports a regulated manufacturing environment by performing GMP- and GDP-compliant laboratory testing, maintaining accurate quality documentation, and ensuring that raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and stability samples meet established specifications. This role combines hands-on laboratory work with meticulous documentation and coordination of testing activities to support timely product release and overall quality assurance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and organize quality documentation, including batch records and standard operating procedures, providing document management support in alignment with quality and regulatory expectations.
  • Perform quality control activities in a regulated manufacturing environment in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Conduct Endotoxin testing using the Endosafe Nexgen PTS system to verify product and material suitability.
  • Perform laboratory testing such as ICP metals analysis, viscosity testing, and pH analysis to support product quality evaluations.
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  • Conduct in-process testing to support manufacturing operations and provide timely feedback on product quality during production.
  • Perform finished product testing to confirm that products meet specifications and are ready for release.
  • Execute stability testing in accordance with established protocols to monitor product performance over time.
  • Test incoming raw materials to verify that they meet required specifications and compliance standards.
  • Coordinate and prioritize testing activities based on production schedules and business needs to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Work closely with production and quality leadership to communicate results, resolve issues, and ensure timely completion of testing and associated documentation.
  • Apply strong documentation practices to record test results, maintain batch records, and support traceability and audit readiness.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related science field; an associate degree is acceptable, with a preference for a bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in a professional laboratory setting.
  • Hands-on experience performing endotoxin testing, wet chemistry procedures, and basic laboratory tests in a chemistry laboratory.
  • Practical experience working in a GMP-regulated environment.
  • Experience applying Good Documentation Practices (GDP) in laboratory and quality settings.
  • Proficiency with Endosafe Nexgen PTS for Endotoxin testing.
  • Experience performing ICP metals testing.
  • Experience using pH meters and viscometers for analytical testing.
  • Experience with instrument calibration and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Experience performing raw material, in-process, finished product, and stability testing.
  • Strong documentation skills, including accurate batch record management and data recording.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline, with a preference for candidates holding a bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a small laboratory environment while collaborating effectively with a close-knit team.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple testing priorities aligned with production schedules.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining data integrity and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Willingness to participate in hands-on learning and training to expand technical skills and knowledge.

Work Environment

This position is based in a small, quiet laboratory that offers a focused and supportive setting for hands-on learning and training. You will work closely with a laboratory manager and another technician, providing coverage for additional team members who typically support testing volume.
