JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Work Shift

7 days on (12 hr shifts) followed by 7 days off - Day Hospitalist or Nocturnist

Summary of the Job:The Hospitalist provides care for hospitalized adult, general medical patients as the admitting or consulting physician.
Minimum Qualifications: MD or DO degree and Board Certification in appropriate specialty along with background and experience in the care of hospitalized patients. Must be licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners to practice medicine. Member in good standing of the St. Tammany Parish Hospital Medical Staff.
Physical Demands:
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 20 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
Physical Effort required:
Constant (67%-100%) - handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeing
Frequently (34%-66%)- reaching
Occasionally (1%-33%)- lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), balancing, stooping, crouching
