Shift:           Tuesday to Saturday from 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM(Monday is a rotating shift and will work based on material shipping if people are needed)

Summary

The QC Technician I / Laboratory Technician is responsible for receiving, processing, testing, and documenting fetal bovine blood products in accordance with established SOPs and quality standards. This role supports laboratory and production operations, ensuring accurate processing, inventory management, shipping coordination, and facility maintenance. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable working in a laboratory environment, and flexible with scheduling requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Receive and process fetal bovine blood shipments from collection facilities and airports.
  • Inspect incoming coolers and verify shipment contents against manifests and receiving documentation.
  • Transfer, weigh, and record blood bag inventory while ensuring documentation accuracy.
  • Perform blood processing activities including centrifugation, serum separation, bottling, sampling, labeling, and lot assignment.
  • Conduct hemoglobin testing and maintain quality records in compliance with SOPs.
  • Complete all required production, temperature, receiving, and inventory documentation.
  • Prepare month-end serum samples and coordinate shipment activities, packing lists, and bills of lading.
  • Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance issues promptly.
  • Maintain inventory levels of collection and processing supplies and communicate shortages to management.
  • Assist with procedure updates and ensure compliance with all training requirements.
  • Perform daily housekeeping and sanitation of laboratory equipment, floors, walls, and processing areas.
  • Communicate operational issues, deviations, or discrepancies to supervisors.
  • Support additional operational duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience demonstrating reliability and stable employment history.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass background screening and drug testing requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. (32 kg).
  • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and schedule changes as needed.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with animal blood products and laboratory PPE requirements.
  • Previous laboratory experience.
  • Experience working in slaughterhouse, meat processing, agricultural, or biological processing environments.
  • Experience with inventory tracking, shipping documentation, or production recordkeeping.
