Position: Systems Engineer
Location: Bedford, MA (100% Onsite) Length: 6 Month Contract to Hire *Must have active Top Secret Clearance Job Description:
We are seeking a Systems Engineer to support requirements management, mission assessment activities, stakeholder coordination, and technical analysis for a federal defense environment. This role will help develop and maintain structured requirements processes, support digital engineering initiatives, and translate operational needs into technical specifications and system design recommendations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead the development of a process to collect, integrate, maintain, update, and correct requirements for mission assessment activities. • Support and influence requirements management processes across engineering and program teams. • Interface with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering, configuration management, operational support, program leadership, and government partners. • Provide data analysis, research analysis, and technical recommendations to support program objectives. • Support requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation for RFP development and source selection evaluation criteria. • Develop process models, workflow diagrams, technical presentations, and other materials that communicate complex information clearly to business and technical audiences. • Support system development life cycle activities from initiation through deployment and sustainment. Qualifications:
• 5+ years of systems engineering experience. • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required • Experience with RFP development, including requirements gathering, requirements analysis, and source selection evaluation criteria. • Knowledge of digital engineering strategy and tools, including Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft collaboration tools. • Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and Teams, including data management, list creation, and integration with Power Platform. • Experience with other automation tools and platforms. • Experience working across each stage of the system development life cycle, from initiation through deployment and sustainment. • Demonstrated proficiency with process modeling and developing workflow diagrams. • Ability to elicit and interpret requirements and translate them into technical specifications and system design using best practices and design patterns. • Ability to perform problem/gap definition, trade space analysis, science and technology roadmap analysis, set-based design for concept development, Multi-Objective Decision Analysis, and cost-versus-capability trade-off analysis. • Experience with engineering practices, techniques, and standards. • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to develop and present technical presentations. • Ability to represent complex data through diagrams or other techniques that communicate precise information to both business and technical staff. • Proven ability to understand strategic and tactical project approaches and manage multiple projects concurrently.
