Job description

About S & V Family Home Health Agency

S & V Family Home Health Agency Corp is a licensed home health agency serving Miami-Dade and Monroe counties, including the Florida Keys. We provide skilled nursing, home health aide and CNA services, physical, occupational, and speech therapy, and medical social work — all under one agency, with clinical oversight from our Director of Nursing, an APRN-BC.

Our office and field team are fully bilingual in English and Spanish. Our tagline is "Compassionate Care for Every Generation," and we mean it in both directions: the way we treat patients and the way we treat the aides who care for them.

About the role

We are hiring Home Health Aides and CNAs for on-site assignments in patients' homes across Miami-Dade and Monroe counties. This is a temporary/PRN position with the potential to move into steady, ongoing cases based on performance and availability.

We currently have immediate openings, including short-notice coverage this week, and we are also building our roster of aides for weekend, evening, and same-day assignments.

What you'll do

  • Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living — bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and incontinence care
  • Assist with safe mobility, ambulation, and transfers using proper body mechanics
  • Prepare meals, complete light housekeeping, and maintain a clean, safe home environment
  • Follow the plan of care established by our nursing team and complete assigned tasks as documented
  • Observe and report changes in a patient's physical, mental, or emotional condition to the supervising nurse promptly
  • Document visits accurately using our EVV-compliant system (WellSky), including clock-in and clock-out at the point of care
  • Provide companionship and respectful, dignified support to patients and their families
  • Follow infection control, HIPAA, and patient rights standards at all times

What we're looking for

  • Active Florida Home Health Aide (HHA) certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license — or 75-hour HHA training with documentation, per Florida requirements
  • Level 2 background screening cleared through AHCA, or willingness to complete it
  • Current TB clearance and physical
  • Current CPR certification
  • Alzheimer's/ADRD training — the Department of Elder Affairs one-hour course within 30 days of hire, plus the additional required training within seven months. We will walk you through both; we do this with every aide we hire
  • Valid Florida driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
  • Ability to lift, transfer, and assist patients safely
  • Dependability. The single most important qualification for this role is showing up when you said you would
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred

Why aides stay with us

  • We cover the Keys. Most agencies stop at Florida City. If you live in or are willing to travel to Monroe County — Key Largo, Islamorada, Marathon, Key West — we have consistent work for you
  • Real RN support. You are never alone on a case. Our Director of Nursing supervises every plan of care, and our 24/7 line is answered by our team, not an answering service
  • We match cases to you. Tell us your ZIP codes, your preferred coverage areas, your availability, and the case types you're strongest with, and we schedule around them
  • Dementia training provided. We invest in ADRD training for our aides because our patients need it and because it makes you more employable for life
  • Bilingual office. You will always be able to reach someone in the language you're most comfortable in
  • Flexible schedules — weekday, weekend, evening, and short-notice shifts available
