Job Description

WHAT DOES AN ASSOCIATE SEO SPECIALIST DO?

The Associate SEO Specialist supports the SEO Specialist on their assigned accounts and is expected to support SEO tactics and opportunities. This person will execute strategic recommendations, monitor inbound marketing programs, conduct research, analyze SEO performance, and work collaboratively within the SEO team.  

The Associate SEO Specialist should be passionate about marketing and how this channel can help drive client goals. Associate SEO Specialists are expected to monitor the changing landscape and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the space. All Associate SEO Specialists are expected to manage internal relationships and approach their work with enthusiasm. 

The Associate SEO Specialist will serve in a variety of ways for each account. Duties may include:  

  • Keyword research  
  • Implement SEO best practices across multiple efforts  
  • Monitor SEO activities, metrics, and program performance for client reports  
  • Assist in development of campaign optimization recommendations  
  • Manage and implement SEO and link-building campaigns  
  • Assist with development of internal education and/or articles  
  • Maintain team and project status updates 
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.   
  • All other duties as assigned  
Qualifications

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, strategic communications, or a similar field; or equivalent professional experience plus education
  • Passion for search and desire to continuously learn, educate and expand knowledge
  • Ability to monitor, track, and report on SEO results  
  • Flexibility and innovative thinking  
  • Ability to be a strong team player, working within team dynamic or independently as needed  
  • Strong communication, organization, and task management skills 
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices, coding languages, and LLMs/AI a plus but not required
  • Knowledge of analytical and search-specific tools a plus but not required. Examples include Adobe Analytic, Google Analytics, LookerStudio, Conductor, Moz, SEMRush, and Ahrefs
