Job description

PLANT PAINTER-Helper POSITION LOCATION: Sims, NC POSITIONS AVAILABLE: 1PRIMARY FUNCTION: Perform general construction tasks involving physical labor at construction projects and plants. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, cleaning up rubble and debris.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Plant PainterDrills, sandblaster, paint spray gun and other power tools as required.Position, join, align, and seal structural components, such as concrete wall sections and pipes.Shovel cement and other materials into portable cement mixers; and mix, pour, and spread concrete.Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.Spray materials such as water, sand, steam, vinyl, paint, or stucco through hoses to clean, coat, or seal surfaces.Tend pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power for tools, machinery, and equipment.Lubricate, clean, and repair machinery, equipment, and tools. Apply caulking compounds by hand or using caulking guns. Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards. Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones. Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, and other temporary structures. Load, unload building materials, machinery, and tools. Mix ingredients to create compounds for covering or cleaning surfaces. Learn and follow safety regulations. Work long, flexible hours as demanded by our customers including nights, weekends, and work outside for extended periods during all seasons of the year. Perform additional duties as required or directed by their immediate supervisor or other manager. Must have regular and predictable attendance. Must be able to wear a respirator. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Requirements:Must be a minimum of 21 years old. Work Experience:Good work ethic.Other:Must be eligible to drive a company vehicle. Valid license and clean driving record. Must be willing to work nights.Must have the willingness and be available to work long hours or weekends if required. Must be dependable with a good work ethic.Must not be afraid of heights.Must be willing to follow directions and learn.Room for advancement with training. Physical Demands: Heavy physical effort required including pulling and lifting or moving heavy weight material with frequent lifting or moving materials or equipment (up to 80 pounds). If a position specific Physical Demands sheet is attached, it will describe in more detail the physical demands that are required. Physical Activity:Position requires the ability to continuously work around any or all the following: noise, dust, heat, cold, oil and heavy equipment. Personal protective equipment is normally required for the position.
