Job description

We are looking for self-motivated and safety-conscious candidates who would like to join our production team in Peru, IL.
New employees can earn $63K in total compensation when working at Canam Steel Corp for a 50-hour work week. This includes the base rate, overtime, retention and production bonuses.
There are additional ways to earn including referral bonuses and mentoring incentives.
Position is full-time with benefits!
Machine Operator, 2nd Shift Monday-Friday 3:00 p.m.-11:30 p.m. Monday-Friday with possible overtime
SUMMARY
Perform machine shop and roll forming press operations on the production floor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Operate overhead cranes and perform daily operator inspections.
  • Operate forklift.
  • Attach appropriate labels and tags to products
  • Maintain work area and equipment in clean orderly condition.
  • Work safely and follow company safety policies.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor including, but not limited to, cleaning, scrap removal and other tasks.
  • Standing for most of shift
  • Frequent walking, using hands and fingers to handle objects, tools and controls.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching
  • Frequent use of close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and able to adjust focus.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Ability to obtain valid crane and forklift certifications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Frequent communication with others to exchange information.
  • Frequent repetition of motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Frequent moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Frequent lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
  • Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Constantly thinking and processing information.
  • Constantly maintaining concentration and focus on tasks.
