Job description

F/T Med Surg RN Needed – Direct Hire, Dixon, IL


Our client, a large healthcare organization located in Dixon, IL, is seeking experienced full-time Med Surg Registered Nurses for a direct hire opportunity. This position offers competitive compensation, shift differentials, a generous sign-on bonus, and growth opportunities within a respected healthcare system.   In addition to a competitive base hourly pay, there are shift differentials for nights and weekends.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of RN experience, prior Med Surg experience, and relief charge nurse experience. Candidates must understand that our client is a Drug Free Campus and must successfully complete a negative drug screening prior to employment.

This is a direct hire position.  The position is a night shift working 12-hour nights (7pm to 7am).  Every other weekend and holiday rotation typically required.  If relocation assistance is required if would be discussed during the interview.  


Job Responsibilities

·        Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced Med Surg environment

·        Monitor and care for patients with diagnoses including NSTEMI, COPD, Pneumonia, Sepsis, and AKI

·        Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure excellent patient outcomes

·        Interpret and sign off on telemetry monitoring strips throughout shifts

·        Support unit operations and assist with leadership responsibilities as needed

·        Float to ICU, ER, or Behavioral Health Center only if prior experience qualifies


Job Requirements

·        Current RN license in Illinois

·        Current American Heart Association BLS certification required prior to start

·        Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

·        Minimum 1 year of Med Surg experience required

·        Relief charge nurse experience required

·        BSN preferred

·        Experience in a healthcare environment preferred
