Requirements of the Registered Nurse (RN)

A     1 year of Registered Nursing (RN)experience

A     Current RN License

A     BCLS certification

A     Ability to lift 50 pounds

A     Effective oral and written communicationskills

A     Ability to work with a diverse patientpopulation

A     Excellent writing and charting skills

A     Computer literate

A     Ability to pass a Level 2 background checkand drug screen

A     Must possess independent problem-solvingabilities

Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse (RN)

A     Perform all nursing duties in accordancewith the scope of practice specific to the state you are working in, whileadhering to all facility policies and procedures.

A     Monitor patient progress and identifies anychanges in status, acting on those changes to ensure patient comfort andsafety.

A     Assist physicians and all healthcareprofessionals caring for the patient, always giving a complete and thoroughreport on patient status at end of shift/assignment.

A     Perform routine nursing care to assignedpatients, while utilizing age specific and universal precaution practices atall times.

A     Practice patient teaching/training forpatients and families.

A     Follow hospital policy when disposing ofhazardous materials, labeling, and handling of all materials.

A     Actively demonstrate a working knowledge ofnursing theory, techniques, principles, and practice in order to holisticallycare for the patient.
