POSITION: Charge Registered Nurse
SCHEDULE: Opportunities available for day shifts
FACILITY: Douglas County Correctional Center
LOCATION: Omaha, NE
Are you ready to combine hands-on nursing care with leadership that supports both patients and your team?

As a Charge RN, you'll play an important role in delivering quality care while guiding nursing staff and supporting daily clinical operations.
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, you'll provide patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation while serving as a clinical resource for nursing staff. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Conducting patient assessments, triage, treatment planning, and ongoing evaluation of care
  • Administering medications, IV therapy, treatments, diagnostic testing, and other nursing interventions
  • Supervising and guiding nursing personnel while promoting teamwork and effective communication
  • Collaborating with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and correctional personnel to coordinate care
  • Assisting with examinations, minor procedures, patient education, referrals, and continuity of care
  • Maintaining accurate electronic medical records and supporting quality assurance, chart audits, and infection control standards

You'll go beyond providing nursing care.
You'll lead by example and help ensure patients receive safe, consistent, and compassionate care every day.

What You'll Need
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in state of practice
  • Current CPR certification
  • One to two years of clinical or supervisory experience preferred
  • Correctional healthcare experience preferred
