At the center of Indiana's referral network, Indianapolis, IN draws cases from much of the state into its larger hospital systems. IU Health Methodist Hospital and Ascension St. Vincent help carry that regional caseload, with travel coverage common in the ICU and surgical suites. Contracts tend to span the wider metro rather than cluster in one district, so a base in Carmel, Greenwood, or Fishers puts a direct highway commute between home and the clinical centers. The grid of interstates, anchored by the I-465 loop, is genuinely the city's commuting backbone. A Colts game at Lucas Oil Stadium or a walk along the downtown Canal Walk fills a day off without much planning.
