Job Summary 

We are seeking a PICC RN to join our healthcare team. Your primary function is to deliver competent and clinically appropriate placement of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) Lines and/or Midlines as ordered. You will be required to demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology of central line placement/peripheral vascular, aseptic technique, ability to confirm line placement via chest x-ray successful placement of PICC three or more times under direct supervision of a Certified PICC nurse, and knowledge of maintenance and care of catheters. You will work with a phenomenal team that cares like family and works together in a collaborative manner. 


In this role you will: 


Demonstrate knowledge and application of the nursing process. 


Demonstrate ability to assess patient past and current medical history including laboratory values, venous and muscle skeletal status that is pertinent in qualifying a patient as a candidate for PICC placement. 


Inserts PICC line and med line IV catheter determines placement via x-ray follow-up and documents the procedure. 


Plan, evaluate and implement interventions for solving IV related patient care problems. 


Exhibit ability to perform PICC placement maintaining aseptic technique utilizing measures that prevent patient discomfort and trauma related to procedure. 


Demonstrate high level skills in critical thinking and assessment related to vascular access devices. 


Provide patient education about the PICC (or midline) insertion and the care and maintenance issues post insertion 


Provides facility nurses/staff instructions about the patient's PICC (or midline) care and maintenance. 


Keep current on IV advances in IV therapy. 


What qualifications you will need:
  • Associates Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing Required, Bachelor Degree in Nursing preferred 
  • Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation. 
  • BLS-AHA Provider issued card required within 30 days of start 
  • ACLS required within 6 months of starting 
  • PALS preferred 
  • PICC Certification course required within first 90 days of start date 
  • 1+ years of Critical Care experience preferred
