Job Overview: The Creative Media Assistant for Student-Athlete Academic Services (SAAS) will assist in creating engaging digital
content and maintaining the department's social media presence across Instagram and X. This position provides hands-on
experience in content creation while helping the Creative Media Assistant build their professional portfolios and creative skillsets.
The Creative Media Assistant will work collaboratively with SAAS staff to highlight student-athlete experiences, promote department
initiatives, and increase engagement across social media platforms.
This role is a school year position with performance evaluations at the end of each semester to continue employment.
We do NOT hire current student-athletes
Job Duties:
1. Content Creation and Media Collection (45%)
• Capture photos and videos during SAAS events, programming, and student-athlete activities
• Assist with creating engaging social media content for Instagram and X
• Record short-form video content and interviews
• Help brainstorm creative content ideas and social media campaigns
• Organize and maintain media files for future use
2. Social Media and Digital Communications Support (30%)
• Assist in maintaining consistent activity across department social media platforms
• Help develop content strategies to increase student engagement and social media following
• Monitor social media trends and assist with implementing creative ideas
• Support promotion of SAAS events, achievements, deadlines, and announcements
3. Newsletter and Office Media Projects (20%)
• Assist with the creation and design of semesterly SAAS newsletters
• Help update and maintain office slideshow displays featuring athletic updates, internship opportunities, studentathlete recognitions, and department announcements
• Support additional creative and promotional projects as assigned
4. Professionalism and Program Expectations (5%)
• Maintain professionalism when representing SAAS and interacting with student-athletes
• Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and strong communication skills
• Complete assigned projects and content requests in timely manner
Qualifications:
Required:
• Interest in social media, content creation, sports media, marketing, or digital communications
• Familiarity with Instagram, X, and basic content creation platforms (such as Canva and CapCut)
