Job Summary

 

The District Retail Merchandiser coordinates a variety of field projects including new store sets, re-sets, and conversions to ensure that the company provides value added services to customers within the assigned district.

***Please note that this is a weekly travel-based role, including overnight stays usually every week. This role comes with a company car, and company gas card. Pay ranges from $20-22 an hour based on experience

Essential Job Functions*

  • Works with District Manager to plan, schedule, and implement projects. Addresses and resolves issues in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates the successful assembly of product displays according to plan-o-gram, new item placement, and merchandising systems at customer retail locations.
  • Leads temporary employees and third-party merchandisers at customer locations.
  • Maintains excellent customer relations at the store level.
  • Serves as a back up to Territory Managers as needed.
  • Maintains ongoing communication with District Manager. Submits required paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintains required records and manages expenses within company budgets.
  • Maintains a current knowledge of company products, field operations, and customer account specifications.
  • Travels constantly within district or region.
  • Work involves frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, climbing, and lifting.
  • Work involves exposure to dust and occasional dirty conditions.

Education & Experience

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years merchandising experience, in retail environment.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Windows
  • Knowledge of plan-o-grams - able to work off plan-o-grams in an efficient manner.

  • Strong organization, planning skills, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills - able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and deal tactfully with the public.
  • Willing to travel 80 - 90% of the time when needed.
  • Maintains a valid driver license and vehicle insurance.
  • Frequent overnight travel may be required.
  • Able to operate a motor vehicle safely and lift 50 pounds.
