About Uwill:

Uwill is the leading student mental health and wellness solution for colleges, K12 schools, and districts. Utilizing its proprietary technology and counselor team, Uwill pioneered the first student and therapist matching platform focused on immediacy, choice, and personalized care. As a Uwill Counselor you will be offering teletherapy sessions by video, phone, or chat message to students at our partner institutions. This is a 1099 independent contractor role with flexible scheduling.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manage an active clinical caseload from the initial session through graduation from care.

  • Conduct therapy sessions via video, telephone, or chat, providing real-time support in a tele-health environment.

  • Apply evidence-based therapeutic practices and tailored SMART goals tailored to individual needs.

  • Practice culturally competent care to meet the needs of a diverse client base including but not limited to: first-time therapy seekers, BIPOC students, LGBTQ+ students, first-generation students, veterans, and athletes.

  • Adhere to the risk assessment and management process of Uwill, including assessing for risk during the initial session with a student and as needed thereafter.

  • Document all sessions and clinical interactions within time frame expectations.

  • Respond to student messages in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):

  • Comfortable supporting students in Farsi.

  • Current professional liability insurance.

  • HIPAA-compliant private workspace suitable for telehealth sessions.

  • Ability to provide sessions via Zoom on a computer or laptop running Mac OS 10.13+ or Windows 10+, with a camera, microphone, and internet speed of at least 10 Mbps.

Special Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal, and listening communication skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, critical-thinking skills, use of sound judgment.

  • Proven ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of people of various ages and backgrounds, student developmental needs, nationality, culture, faith/religion, language difference, ability differences, sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression.

  • Possess the ability to work with a wide range of individuals presenting mental health concerns across broad levels of acuity including first-time therapy seekers.

  • Ability to assess risk and refer to Uwill’s Clinical Support team as needed.

  • Ability to respond with empathy, professionalism, and meet students where they are.

Benefits:

  • Flexibility - Choose your own schedule with the option to change/update availability as you see fit. Work from any quiet, professional location in the US where you can maintain privacy and HIPAA compliance.

  • Minimal Admin or Paperwork - Simple note taking (in comparison to insurance based requirements). No scheduling, timekeeping, or billing required.

  • Expand Your Practice Working Specifically with Students - Grow your client base and add a lucrative earning stream/supplemental income while contributing to the mission of providing access to mental health care to an underserved population of students.

  • Training - Free unlimited CEU courses, specialized training and support through monthly clinical panels and seminars,
