Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job
The Department of Computer Science invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position to strengthen both our research mission and core Computer Science teaching portfolio. We are particularly interested in candidates who have research strength in Robotics, Sensing Autonomous System, Augmented and Virtual Reality, Hardware Integration, Cybersecurity, and Digital Forensics, or other related Computer Science areas, and who can teach core Computer Science courses such as Software Engineering, Operating Systems, and Compilers.
Educational Requirements for the Position
Candidates must hold a PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field (ABD candidates will be considered), demonstrate strong potential for excellence in both teaching and research, and show a commitment to supporting the mission of the department and university.
Experience Required for the Position
The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, with an emphasis on core Computer Science curriculum areas, conduct high-quality scholarly research and develop a sustained and externally funded research program. Supervise student research and mentoring activities, and contribute to service responsibilities at the department, college, university, and professional levels.
