Normal Work Schedule (Other):: Available to work mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Occasional weekends required based on the demands of the project.

Job Responsibilities
The Tool Room Specialist will provide support to learners and instructors on the Scout Motors Project by filling tool and equipment needs, checking tools in and out, along with cleaning and inspection of tools. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Check tools in and out as needed by learners and instructors.
  • Inventory tools, shop supplies and materials and audit periodically for accuracy.
  • Send equipment out for refurbishment, as required. Maintain thorough inventory recording and control systems.
  • Operate powered and non-powered hand tools, industrial shop equipment (e.g. drill press and table saw) and perform minor equipment repair.
  • Maintain cleanliness of tools and equipment.
  • Coordinate with tooling vendors for maintenance and support.
  • Ensure 5S standards are met within tool storage areas.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
  • A high school diploma and work experience directly related to the area of employment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and operate lift assistance equipment for heavy and/or bulky objects, boxes and crates.
  • Must be well organized, have a working knowledge of inventory control and accountability procedures and a sense of safety, customer service and urgency.
  • Have a strong work ethic and be familiar with warehouse maintenance, management & operations.
  • Work well with others in a team environment at close proximity for extended periods of time to support factory training.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of tool and/or inventory stock control related experience.
  • Familiarization with a tool inventory system, such as Crib Master is a plus.
