This 13-week Radiologic Technologist assignment is based in Richmond, Virginia, a dynamic capital city that blends rich American history with a lively modern atmosphere. A typical day in this role will involve receiving orders through the EMR, verifying patient identity and exam indications, preparing patients for imaging procedures, and performing high-quality diagnostic radiographs using established protocols. You will ensure proper positioning, exposure settings, and adherence to radiation safety standards while maintaining a calm, reassuring presence for patients. After image acquisition, you will review images for diagnostic quality, transmit them through PACS, and communicate with radiologists and referring providers as necessary. Depending on the site, you may assist with portable imaging, support fluoroscopic procedures, or work in operating room settings alongside surgical teams. Patient caseloads will vary by location, but you can anticipate a mix of outpatient, emergency, and inpatient exams, allowing you to refine your skills across a range of clinical scenarios.
